The managing director of a recovered fiber trading subsidiary of paper maker the Mondi Group and a paper recycler based in Hungary will be the guest speakers at the Paper Division meeting at the 2015 Bureau of International Recycling autumn 2015 meeting in Prague, Czech Republic. The Paper Division meeting takes place Monday, Oct. 26, at 9.00 a.m.

Paper Division President Reinhold Schmidt of Germany’s Recycling Karla Schmidt says the two guest speakers will provide attendees with an up-to-date assessment of the Eastern European recovered paper market.

Speaker Jaroslav Tymich is the executive and managing director of EuroWaste, a subsidiary of paper maker Mondi Group that is one of the biggest recovered paper traders in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Mondi Group employs more than 24,400 people with 102 operations in some 30 countries, predominantly in central Europe, Russia and South Africa. The title of Tymich’s presentation will be “Paper for recycling in Eastern Europe: trends and current situation.”

Fellow speaker Balázs Makó is managing director of Paper Metal Recycling GmbH (Hungary), which was founded in 1991. Makó, who also is a board member of a Hungarian recycling association, will be speaking on “Recovered paper collection in Hungary – conflicting interests between local authorities and the private sector.”

Two days after the BIR’s Paper Division meeting in Prague, the Recycling Today Media Group will host the 2015 version of its Paper Recycling Conference Europe event.
